"It was a silent night in the early hours of September
20th 2011, under a fine rain at the Santa Catarina Federal University
(UFSC), Florianopolis, Brazil.
The ALF broke into the campus after cutting open the
fence that separates it from the avenue.
After visiting the location where goats, birds, mice and
dogs are held in captivity to be tortured and killed we visited the new
building, still unfinished, where the entire biotery 'would' be
transferred to. Many torture equipments were already being stocked
inside the new building.
This was not our first visit as this action has been
planned during several months.
At 4AM of this glorious morning, we poured a few gallons
of gasoline and querosene over the expensive equipment just like we
would water a plant to see it flourish. Blessed for destruction, the
morning was then lightened with a simple match, letting the fire perform
its duty in destroying that vile building. We were sheltered by the
neighboring forest that for long had witnessed the screams of the
animals tortured inside that complex. Today they know their voices have
been heard and we left them with our promise to come back, soon.
You may try to find us, but you won't because the ALF is
nowhere but yet we are everywhere.
You may have the law on your side, but we are the ones
making justice.
You may try to justify your thirst for money and greed
even when that means taking the lives of sentient beings, but we are the
ones acting in the name of the truth.
You may try to forget your guilt as you try to sleep at
night, but we are the ones who are awake guilty to sleep at night, but
we will be awake and knocking on your door when you least expect it, at
your university, at your work, on your homes.
We celebrate with this September 20th 2011 action the
recent release of Kevin Kjonaas, the last SHAC 7 to be released, and
dedicate it to all those who risk their lives and freedom to fight for
the freedom of others.

"After all the activities during the International Week of
Animal Liberation in Brazil, we feel obligated to report this action as well, in
order to publicise what is going on at vivisection labs all around.
This action happened and wide noticed here in Brazil, just after
it. We haven't had it on the web because of security issues. We got in the
science lab of malaria (USP) and we destroyed about 10 years of research on
mices and some primates. We caused economic damage of something about R$
70.000,00 on equipment and sabotage.
The action took one hour and with surgical precision made, where
the objective was to get in, raise data about abusers and to destroy equipment
and the research itself. We were reminded of Barry Horne's sacrifice and the
International day of direct action. Today we give society the true story of what
have happened in that lab.

"We, the Earth Liberation Front (ELF), claim the action that
happened on Friday dawn, 1:20 am, at a Land Rover car dealership at Marginal
Pinheiros, next to Eus�bios Matoso bridge. Eight cars were destroyed, causing
approximately 1,6 millions of Reais (Brazilian currency) in damages.
This action took place during the celebration of the
International Animal (human and non-human) and Earth Liberation Week, on Brazil.
The target this time was simply picked due to the leadership of Land Rover on
the manufacturing, selling SUV�s, automobiles that are highly polluting and non
environment friendly. To accomplish this action, molotov�s were tossed on the
cars, a simple cheap and efficient way of causing economic damage. The material
used costed 10 Reais (Brazilian currency), approximately.
We won�t simply watch Earth destruction and do nothing about it.
The same way those cars burnt others will, Just like houses, trucks, and
commercial establishments that exploit or abuse the Earth and the animals.
It is about time that this civilization get it pillars down.
This action was done in the name of all the prisioners of total
liberation.
April 1, 2009 -- Fire Breaks Out at Massive Killing Complex
On the morning of March 21, a fire broke out at a massive slaughterhouse
operated by the Perdig�o company in the city of Rio Verde (Goi�s state). Nobody
was hurt in the fire. The slaughterhouse, one of the largest in Latin America,
has the capacity to kill over 2 million birds and 25,000 pigs a week.
Although the cause of the fire is still being investigated, the Ativismo
activist collective received a message from the ALF claiming responsibility
(rough translation):
"After more than one year of study and planning and a few weeks surviving in
the harsh reality of a slaughterhouse that kills 500,000 birds a day, we reached
our goal. The theft of 500,000 lives, stolen as a result of corporate greed and
consumer ignorance, stopped, even if only temporarily.
You can blame us for putting at risk the lives of workers, but our action was
as efficient as our planning, preventing any loss of human lives.
You can say that this will affect the economy and the families of farmers and
workers, but what we did was save the lives of 500,000 birds for each of the
nine days that the factory was out of operation.
You can invent a cause and argue that the fire was not an act of sabotage,
but what matters is the result and nothing more. If we were interested in
recognition for our actions, we would not be a group that operates in anonymity.
You can increase your security, but you will never be sure that you're safe.
We have made sure that the doors will always be open for those who have a good
reason to enter.
You can not hide and you can not stop us (this was only the beginning).
We are scattered all over the world and act independently and decentralized.
This means that whatever happens, you will never prevent us from action; to
prevent an individual will not prevent others.
For those who do not know, the ALF is considered the number 1 terrorist
threat in the USA. Our actions aim to destroy the companies and individuals who
profit from farming animals and to expose the reality that is hidden from the
population.
We are very pleased with the result, despite having been forced to delay the
date of our action one day later than planned, because March 20 is celebrated
throughout the world as a day without meat. This was our way of commemorating
the date, but that's not all. During the weeks we had the privilege of being
inside this company (you can look, you will not find us), we had the opportunity
to document some facts with photos, videos and photocopies, which will be
released to selected institutions at the appropriate time.

"Frente de Liberta��o Animal Brasil strikes again!* Target: USP
The University of S�o Paulo, like dozens of others scattered throughout
Brazil and around the world, uses a large number of animals in a variety of
research projects, teaching and testing. This feeds a frenzied market of animals
bred only to have their bodies mutilated and tested on for the 'progress of
science.'
The interests of these animals, sentient individuals, are never taken into
account....
The Frente de Liberta��o Animal (FLA) raided a laboratory at the Biosciences
Institute of the University of S�o Paulo (USP) and destroyed research materials,
equipment and computers. No one was identified or arrested.
A microscope and computer monitor were damaged, telephones wires were cut,
research materials were spread out on the floor....
Science has to evolve, find new ways. Testing on animals is archaic,
ethically and methodologically...."
*This is the second action targeting a major university in S�o Paulo. In
August, an explosive device was discovered at the entrance to the Federal
University of S�o Paulo, disrupting a vivisection conference.

"Frente de Liberta��o Animal Brasil ataca novamente! Alvo: USP
A Universidade de S�o Paulo, assim como dezenas de outras espalhadas pelo
Brasil e mundo afora, utiliza-se, em larga escala, de animais nos mais diversos
projetos de pesquisa, ensino e testes. Alimentando um fren�tico mercado de
animais criados unicamente para terem seus corpos mutilados e experimentados
para o �leg�timo progresso da ci�ncia�.
Os interesses destes animais, indiv�duos sencientes, nunca s�o levados em
conta, mas t�o somente o de pesquisadores, coordenadores e diretores � com suas
bolsas de estudo e vencimentos p�blicos - que n�o buscam alternativas ao uso
destes animais � afinal, s�o seu ganha p�o, independentemente de quest�es �ticas
ou de efici�ncia -, que s�o tratados como simples objetos de manipula��o para
interesses acad�micos, financeiros ou qualquer que seja seu prop�sito, sempre
injustific�vel do ponto de vista �tico, por se tratar de experimentos n�o
consentidos.
O grupo Frente de Liberta��o Animal (FLA) invadiu um laborat�rio do Instituto
de Bioci�ncias da Universidade de S�o Paulo (USP) e destruiu materiais de
pesquisas, equipamentos e computadores. Ningu�m foi identificado ou detido.
De acordo com a pol�cia, uma professora da Faculdade de Biologia comunicou a
a��o do grupo ao 93 DP (Jaguar�), por volta das 10h30m de quinta. O pr�dio foi
invadido por volta das 8h15m. O grupo, que protesta contra a utiliza��o de
animais em pesquisas, danificou o microsc�pio, o monitor do computador, um
notebook e cortou os fios dos telefones. Eles espalharam os materiais de
pesquisas pelo ch�o, o que danificou sua utiliza��o. Nada foi levado do
laborat�rio.
A imprensa, como sempre, com pouco ou nenhum entendimento do que se passa em
laborat�rios de vivissec��o , n�o consegue, ou n�o quer, enxergar a conex�o de
um ato de �a��o direta� com a motiva��o deste ato, e seu valor social para uma
mudan�a urgente na sociedade. E, na sua simpl�ria leitura, reporta mat�rias
difamadoras tratando seus realizadores como v�ndalos ou terroristas, n�o dando
ao menos uma linha sobre as motiva��es do movimento de Liberta��o Animal.
O coletivo ativismo (ativismo.com) e o Odeio Rodeio consideram leg�timo e
justo os atos praticados contra a pol�tica vivisseccionista da Universidade de
S�o Paulo, que n�o respeita o direito � integridade f�sica dos indiv�duos
abusados em seus laborat�rios. Salientamos que atos como estes visam a trazer
avan�os na luta pela aboli��o do uso de animais no sistema de consumo, como
ocorrido na Inglaterra, em que constru��o de novos laborat�rios envolvidos em
testes com animais foi freada dados os altos custos com seguran�a.
A ci�ncia tem de evoluir, achar novos caminhos. Os Testes em animais s�o a
estagna��o da hist�ria, �tica e metodologicamente.
Outro lado
Sem desmerecer o ato do ponto de vista moral, pois os resultados de uma
ci�ncia que n�o caminha ao lado da �tica devem ser desprezados, acreditamos
caber, no entanto, alguns questionamentos do ponto de vista estrat�gico.
O primeiro deles diz respeito aos testes em animais. Tendo os animais o
status de propriedade, cujo uso para os mais diversos fins � permitido e
incentivado (no caso da ci�ncia), a destrui��o do laborat�rio n�o acarretar� em
mais testes, para refazer-se o q foi perdido?
Segundo: tendo em vista o paradigma antropoc�ntrico da ci�ncia e da sociedade,
que consideram os animais meros meios para o seu fim, o mais importante �
derrubar este paradigma. Ora, os testes e o uso dos animais de forma geral s�
deixaram de acontecer quando as institui��es mudarem. Enquanto a maioria da
sociedade aceitar e demandar seu uso ele continuar� acontecendo. As institui��es
s� mudam quando as pessoas que as formam mudam, num movimento de baixo para cima.
O questionamento: esse tipo de a��o, que muitos acabam enxergando como mero
vandalismo, ajudam ou atrapalham na difus�o das id�ias veganas? Ajudam ou
atrapalham na conscientiza��o da sociedade para a causa dos Direitos Animais? H�
quem diga que atrapalha.Fica a reflex�o, sem denegrir a simbologia do ato em si."
"The website of Brazil's Instituto Pr�-Carne (Pro-Meat Institute) has been
hacked by the Animal Liberation Front.
Instituto Pr�-Carne is an association of meat producers and traders devoted
to promoting the consumption of meat in Brazil. Their slogans are, among others,
'Eat Meat. It's Tasty, It's Healthy, It's Natural'.
ALF has hacked the website and replaced their pictures with bloody pictures
of dying or dead animals, their slogan with 'Eat meat: you pay with your health,
we keep your money', and their texts with informative ones about the health
effects of eating meat, such as the impact on cancer...."

May 29, 2007 - Rodeo Sabotaged
Activists in Brazil have reported an
action protesting an upcoming rodeo in the city of Carapicu�ba (S�o Paulo state)
in Brazil. Five trucks/tractors were sabotaged; mechanical and electric hoses
cut, sand placed in the gas tank, glass broken.
