Saturday 5th : Jill Phipps Memorial Event
Tuesday 1st will be the 10th anniversary of the tragic death of
the dedicated animal rights activist, Jill Phipps. As most people will be
aware Jill campaigned tirelessly for animals in Coventry (her home town) and
across the country. It was was whilst protesting against live exports at
Coventry Airport that she died under the wheels of an export lorry.
Plans are underway for a major national event to take place in Coventry City Centre on the Saturday - ideas being considered include a march, rally with celebrity speakers, indoor stalls, workshops and a benefit/social in the evening. 1,000 compassionate people attended Jills funeral and it is hoped that this event will once again bring together those with compassion from around the country. Please make a note in your diary now and make sure you keep this date free.

- In previous years organizations around the world have demonstrated at
government offices, embassies, and tourist offices.
No national UK event, but you can arrange a demo in your city, write letters to government officials, or hand out leaflets on a busy street.
We have been able to find no further information on this event, this year. If you know anything please send feedback. -
Approx 20th : Covance Campaign
Rememberance for 64 beagles from Harlan killed for a single experiment on this day in 2000.
- This will have been just one of the experiments running at the time, perhaps hundreds more trials will have been on-going for clients, involving rabbits, rodents, fish, cattle and of course more dogs. We commemorate ONE experiment but ask campaigners to remember that this is just the tip of the iceberg and on the 20th of March we'll stand for the millions across the globe whose suffering is hidden within windowless sound proofed vivisection labs and protected by worthless rules invented by oafs, popularly known as 'the law'.
